-About-

JBA Architecture and Woodcrafts is a full-service Architecture Practice that can provide services beyond the typical design, draft and build services of other firms.  With first hand knowledge of various woodworking and construction practices, Jon Burge can offer design services that won’t have your contractor bemoaning the thoughtlessness of the Architect.  JBA also provides the foresight of well thought out designs that you may not get with typical design-build services.

We can design your new home or addition; redesign an interior space or provide just the piece of furniture you need to bring it all together.  We focus on reuse of materials, minimizing waste, and using time tested passive solar heating & cooling techniques throughout the design process. Whatever the scale or budget, JBA can help you arrive at a solution to meet your needs.

Jon Burge is a registered Architect in the State of Virginia with current NCARB certification. He received his Bachelors of Architecture at the Virginia Tech College of Architecture and Urban Studies in 1997.

He began his career in Bethesda, MD working throughout the MD, VA, DC area.  Here he developed his talents as a draftsman, designer, and project manager.  His love and understanding of the building process allowed him to produce quality designs that were also budget and contractor friendly and melded seamlessly with the various styles of architecture he was confronted with.  His design senses were refined during a four year tenure in Asheville, NC where he encountered the local mountain vernacular and craftsman styles.

In addition to his pursuits in Architecture, Object Design, and Woodcrafts, Jon is a full time husband & father and is continuously engaged in complete renovations to the 1970s ranch that his family calls home.
